Recipe by Chloe

This turkey meatloaf with oatmeal is juicy, tender, and packed with cozy comfort food flavor. Made with lean ground turkey, rolled oats, savory seasonings, and a sweet ketchup glaze, this easy family dinner is perfect for busy weeknights and meal prep.

  • Total Time1 hour 5 minutes
  • Yield6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground turkey
  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/3 cup ketchup (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook onion until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, combine oats and milk. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  4. Add ground turkey, cooked onion mixture, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, paprika, and parsley.
  5. Mix gently until just combined.
  6. Shape the mixture into a loaf on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. In a small bowl, mix glaze ingredients together. Spread evenly over the meatloaf.
  8. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F to 165°F.
  9. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Rolled oats work better than instant oats for texture.
  • Do not overmix the meat mixture or the loaf can become dense.
  • Use a meat thermometer for perfectly juicy turkey meatloaf.
  • Leftovers make amazing sandwiches the next day.
  • You can freeze cooked slices for easy meal prep dinners later.
