This Italian turkey meatloaf recipe is cheesy, juicy, and packed with cozy Italian flavors. Made with ground turkey, turkey sausage, marinara sauce, parmesan, and melty mozzarella, this easy comfort food dinner is perfect for busy weeknights and family meals.

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ medium onion, finely chopped
  • ½ red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound turkey sausage
  • 1 pound ground turkey breast
  • 2 slices sandwich bread, torn into pieces
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup marinara sauce
  • ¾ cup shredded mozzarella cheese


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a sheet pan or baking dish.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook for 5 minutes until softened.
  4. Place torn bread pieces in a large bowl and pour milk over the top.
  5. Add turkey sausage, ground turkey, cooked vegetables, parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, tomato paste, eggs, salt, and pepper.
  6. Mix gently until combined.
  7. Shape mixture into a loaf and place on the prepared pan.
  8. Bake for 50 minutes.
  9. Spread marinara sauce over the top and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  10. Bake another 10 minutes until cheese melts.
  11. Broil briefly if desired for golden cheese.
  12. Rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
