Description
Hey, I’m Chloe. Welcome back to Meat & Melt, where comfort food meets easy technique and the kitchen always feels warmer when something hearty is cooking. These Beer Brats in the Air Fryer combine a quick beer simmer for juicy, flavorful brats with a crisp air fryer finish that delivers golden texture and weeknight friendly convenience.
Ingredients
- 5 bratwurst
- 1 bottle beer, 12 ounces
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 large onion, sliced
- Buns for serving
- Optional toppings such as mustard
- Optional toppings such as sauerkraut
- Optional toppings such as caramelized onions
Instructions
- In a skillet, combine the beer, butter, and sliced onions and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Add the bratwurst and cook for 8 to 10 minutes until partially cooked and infused with flavor.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees.
- Transfer the brats to the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, turning once, until browned and crisp on the outside.
- Toast the buns in the air fryer for 1 to 2 minutes if desired.
- Serve the brats hot with the beer cooked onions and your preferred toppings.
Notes
You can replace beer with broth for a non alcoholic version. Avoid boiling during the simmer to keep the brats tender. Air fryers vary in speed so begin checking early for doneness. Leftovers reheat well in the air fryer and make great sandwiches the next day.
