About

Welcome to Meat & Melt!

Hi, I’m Chloe! I’ve always believed that food tells a story, and mine started with a deep, simple love for hearty comfort food and the magic of a cheesy skillet dinner.

I’ve traveled across the US, from Texas barbecue joints to classic Midwestern diners, all in search of the perfect Salisbury Steak, the juiciest meatloaf, and the gooey-est mac and cheese.

I’ve asked home cooks for their secret family casserole recipes, studied butchers on how to get the most tender cuts, and learned that great comfort food is about more than technique; it’s about simple ingredients, shared joy, and melty cheese.

How It All Started

Meat & Melt actually came about because I just love cooking for my family, and I truly believe in the magic of simple, satisfying meals. Some of the best memories are spent in my kitchen, perfecting those classic recipes and seeing how I can turn simple ground beef, flank steak, and cheddar into the coolest, most memorable dinner.

Those amazing moments triggered my love for recipe documentation and taught me the importance of bonding people through easy, savory food.

I started this blog as a way to share these beautiful moments—when family recipes feel cozy, trying a new shaved beef recipe for the first time is a delight, and the look of satisfaction when people savor what I’ve prepared is the best reward. I believe everyone can create something delicious with a little guidance, and that’s what I’m here for.

Why You Can Trust Me

With over 15 years of hands-on cooking and recipe testing, from mastering skillet dinners to perfecting the balance of spices in a casserole, I’ve gathered the tips and techniques that make hearty meals fun and approachable for everyone.

While I’m not a formally trained chef, my expertise comes from dedicated, hands-on experience, countless hours spent testing every recipe until it’s perfect, and a deep passion for maximizing flavor with minimal effort. I believe in explaining every detail, so you always feel confident when you try out one of my recipes.

If you see it on this site, you can trust that it’s been lovingly created, carefully tested, and truly worth making.

A Little More About Me

Other than being found hovering over a bubbling casserole in the kitchen, you can find me always on the hunt for the next great flavor! My husband and I really love finding those regional comfort foods that inspire something for our site back home.

I am always on the lookout for new techniques for tenderizing savory meats and finding the most incredible melty cheeses to inspire a new recipe. This adventure is what molds my recipes and builds up my excitement while cooking!
